Last week’s Maui Invitational was a memorable one. Purdue ultimately came out on top with a three point win over Marquette in the championship game.
Over on our YouTube channel, we produced our third voiceover video of the season breaking down that championship game.
The five minute video starts out with a statistical look at how Purdue’s offense has changed from last season — more ball screens for Braden Smith. Then, it breaks down Marquette’s gameplan against Purdue’s offense.
Shaka Smart’s team surprisingly switched most of the Purdue ball screens in the first half — leaving Marquette guards on Zach Edey. In the second half, they were able to keep Oso Ighodaro on Edey by hedging screens.
